Ferragamo Unveils First Bag by Creative Director Paul Andrew
Italian luxury label Salvatore Ferragamo has unveiled the first bag from Paul Andrew.
Titled The Ferragamo Studio Bag, the classic top-handle tote is the first from the new design director who was appointed seven months ago by the Italian heritage brand.
The bag pays homage to the origins of the brand and is inspired by Ferragamo’s first studio, the “Hollywood Boot Shop” in California. For Andrews’ first creation, the studio is revered as a powerful space for creatives to design, photograph, dance and ultimately explore the endless depths of the imagination, just as it was for Salvatore Ferragamo himself.
For the design process, Andrew collaborated with New York-based European artist Ana Kras. She created a series of short films and photos inspired by the colors and shapes seen in the Ferragamo Studio bag that celebrates the combination of craftsmanship and talent. Kras also modeled the Studio Bag in her own studio. ‘The Ferragamo Studio bag symbolizes a desire for timeless iconicism, a merit the Ferragamo house is internationally known for and one I remember well from my youth,’ Kras said of her creative process.
Available in four sizes and three colors: camel, rose and black, The Ferragamo Studio Bag is meant to be a ‘one-stop solution’ for the modern Ferragamo customer.
The Studio Bag by Ferragamo is available in the brand stores and online at www.ferragamo.com.
