Riccardo Tisci collaborates once again with Nike
Riccardo Tisci has designed a special capsule collection called Nikelab x RT Victorious Minotaurs, the brand announced today.
The Italian designer, who spent the past twelve years working for the French fashion house Balenciaga, has been cooperating with the sports manufacturer since 2014, and his collections are usually sold out in the shortest possible time. Nikelab is considered a place where limited editions, sporty innovations and extravagant ideas come together. In March of this year, they launched a special Air Max 97 collection, in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of the Nike Air Max.
For the new NikeLab x RT Victorious Minotours collection, Tisci was inspired by major sports artists from the past. Merging basketball with style, the collection links various classic iconic Nike models, such as the Oxford shirt, training pants or the Varsity jacket, and reinterprets them in the form of new models.
Altogether, the collection includes four pieces for men, and three pieces for women, and several accessories from hats to the Air Force 1 sneaker. Borrowing from the NBA’s red, white, and blue logo, the Air Force 1 sneaker best represents Tisci’s style and his collaboration with Nike. ‘I’m obsessed with the shoe. It’s very clean and pure, but at the same time elaborate,’ said the designer in a pres release.
The ‘NikeLab x RT Victorious Minotaurs’ collection will be launched on October 12, 2017 in North America. It will debut worldwide on 21 October 2017, and will be available in the NikeLab stores as well as online at nike.com/nikelab
