Kate Moss designs luxury prints for de Gournay
Kate Moss is demonstrating her stylistic flair in the field of interior design.
The fashion icon designed a hand-painted wallpaper range for British interior label de Gournay. Titled ‘Anemones in Light’ the hand-painted design is available as ‘Daybreak’ (on Blue Grey dyed silk) and ‘Dusk’ (on Custom Grey Edo painted Xuan paper). The paper changes depending on the different times of day.
‘Anemones in Light’ is an ode to the anemone flower that is said to have been formed by Aphrodite’s tears over the death Adonis as the Greek legend goes. The softness of the painted blooms together with the contemporary colour palette was inspired by film noir and adds a gently sober, yet romantic mood to the collection.
In the context of her collaboration with de Gournay, Moss gave a peek into her London home in a homestory for Architectural Digest. In a black kimono the 43-year-old poses in front of a wall with a flower pattern in gray-blue shades. The greyscale ‘Dusk’ is seen in her very own bathroom.
The union between de Gournay and Moss was a natural creative coupling. Moss recalls her multiple interiors projects with Katie Grove, with whom she shared a mutual admiration for de Gournay’s wallpaper.
This is not the first time that Moss has made a leap into the realm of interior design. Back in 2015, she designed for The Barnhouse, a luxury retreat in the Cotswolds and for Philippe Starck’s brand Yoo.
