Ruth Negga is American Vogue’s January cover star
Ruth Negga graces the January cover of the American Vogue.
The Ethiopian-born actress who grew up in Ireland makes her debut as a covergirl. Lensed by Mario Testino, the 34-year-old appears on the cover against a green background in a black crop top printed with red rose blossoms and green leaves and vines by Alexander Wang. Her left ear decorated with an ear cuff by Rodarte, she looks directly into the camera smiling.
In an inside image from her accompanying editorial, Negga sports a white-transparent top with black stripes of red, blue and yellow by Christopher Kane. She wears a matching white long skirt with black flowers. Styling was by fashion editor Tonne Goodman, who selected the outfits and accessories from Louis Vuitton and Christopher Kane for the actress in addition to Crop Top from Alexander Wang.
Negga is expected to win an Oscar early next year for the drama ‘Loving’ in which she plays the female lead role of ‘Mildred Loving’, a young black woman who, with her white man, played by Joel Edgerton, is confronted with racism and criticism of her marriage in Virginia in the 1950s.
