Lily Aldridge is the new face of Bulgari
Lily Aldridge has been named as the new face of Bulgari.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel will front the Italian haute jewelry house’s global campaigns through 2017 starting with its ‘Larger Than Life campaign’, shot by famed photographer Mario Testino.
On choosing a model as Bulgari’s face, rather than a famous actress or singer, CEO Jean-Christophe Babin said that even though she is not Italian, she looks golden and exotic like Italian divas and evokes a type of Roman opulence. ‘I think Bulgari is much more than one person. A model is a better platform for us to communicate the many angles of the Roman lifestyle,’ he told WWD.
Aldridge said that she felt honored and privileged to front the campaign. ‘For Bulgari ‘living larger’ is the only way to live, it is about living the love for extravagance, the joy of audaciousness, the desire of unique and individual self-expression, a life in bold full-color.’
Aldridge follows in the footsteps of Rachel Weisz, Julianne Moore and Carla-Bruni Sarkozy who have all been previous ambassadors of Bulgari. The campaign will appear in November issues of print magazines including Vogue, WSJ and Architectural Digest.
