Calvin Klein and Opening Ceremony launch Kate Moss t-shirts
Calvin Klein is releasing vintage Kate Moss t-shirts to help fight aids.
The iconic images of a playful and sensual young Moss lensed by photographer David Sims in 1993 will be released as a limited Capsule Collection. The round neck unisex tees, available in white and black, are exclusive to Opening Ceremony as part of an initiative to support amfAR, the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
While it was more than 20 years ago that the so-controversial-at-the-time images of Kate posing cross-legged in her Calvins caused a stir, today these vintage shots are being used for a good cause. ‘These images might as well have been shot today, they’re so fresh,’ Opening Ceremony cofounder Leon Humberto told the NY Times in regard to the current 90s revival. ‘Calvin Klein had a specific point of view that was innovative. I don’t think that we like being nostalgic or bringing things back for the sake of trends. It’s about moments that have been ingrained in us,’ Carol Lim added.
With a steep price tag of $85, the collectibles are a piece of fashion history worth owning.
Calvin Klein and Opening Ceremony Kate Moss tees are available now at Opening Ceremony stores and online.
