Gisele Bundchen to walk the 2016 Olympics Opening Ceremony
Gisele Bundchen will host the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro which are being held in her home country.
The 36-year-old Brazilian supermodel who announced her retirement from the runway last year, will kick off the event when she struts down a ‘futuristic gateway’ to the sound of The Girl From Ipanema at the city’s famous Maracana Stadium on August 5.
According to several reports, it is rumoured that Bundchen will be mugged as she walks down the runway (following which she takes pity on the young thief) to mark the start of the Games. The overall intention of the simulated robbery is said to be a message of peace that is intended to illustrate Brazilian history.
Bundchen who is married to NFL star quarterback Tom Brady will also be making an appearance in Years of Living Dangerously, a docu-series by the National Geographic Channel on the destruction of the Amazon.
