Alexa Chung has collaborated with Marks & Spencer.

The London model has created a special capsule collection called ‘Archive by Alexa’. Chung was given access to M+S’s extensive archives from where she reinterpreted designs for the British High Street Retailer. A total of 31 designs were created comprising of ready-to-wear items.

Chung took to her Instagram to share the first piece of clothing: a pale pink blouse with elegant frill detail at the neck and shoulders. ‘I have always had an affection for Marks & Spencer,’ she told WWD. ‘There was something very touching about looking back through the British fashion and social history for which M&S is synonymous.’

Also for Steve Rowe, CEO of Marks & Spencer, the recent collaboration was an exciting experience. ‘It was a hugely insightful experience allowing Alexa full access to our company archive’, he told WWD. ‘Marks & Spencer’s history is vast and quality design has always been paramount; therefore using our expertise and classic designs and Alexa’s unique eye and approach to style, our collaboration was born. A new women’s wear collection, curated by Alexa, with heritage firmly at its heart.’

Accompanying the collection will be a campaign creatively directed by Chung. ‘Archive by Alexa’ will be available from April in selected Marks & Spencer stores and its online store as well. Prices range between 25 and 115 euros.
