Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, And Naomi Campbell Star In New Balmain Campaign
Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell are the stars of Balmain‘s spring 2016 campaign.
The supermodels of the 90s were brought together by none other than Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing. Lensed by Steven Klein, the icons appear in a series of black and white images posing together, as duos or separately as they model looks from the new collection marked by mesh structures, flounces and textured surfaces.
About the campaign, Rousteing said in an official statement, ‘Watching Cindy, Claudia, Naomi and Steven instinctively work together, I was struck by the displays of confidence, professionalism and grace in front of me. There was never any doubt that the final images would be anything but perfect.’
Rousteing also thanked the models, posting on his Instagram account snapshots of him in the company of each model and commenting: ‘You made me love fashion yesterday, you make me love fashion today you’ll make me love fashion in the future.’
‘Balmain has a deep soul, and it’s not only about followers,’ he told Vogue. ‘It’s about dreams and love, and I think with this campaign I’m going to show that and go back to its roots. This campaign is about what makes me love fashion, and these three women are exactly that.’
Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell were the epitome of supermodel and still apply today as absolute icons of the fashion industry. Today they are all in their forties, and while they are a little less active on the catwalk, they have made appearances on campaigns in recent years. Claudia for Chanel, L’Oreal and Dolce & Gabbana, Cindy who’s been the muse of Omega watches for several seasons already, and Naomi Campbell who continues to march steadily for most major brands including La Perla.
