Cindy Crawford Releases Book To Mark 50th Birthday
Cindy Crawford proves she is more than just a pretty face in her new book ‘Becoming.’
The American supermodel celebrated the release of the publication with a book signing in New York on Tuesday (September 29). The 200-plus-page book is a memoir about her life and rise to fame. It features more than 100 photos that span Crawford’s entire career, beginning from the mid 1980s, and unpublished images from her personal archive in addition to images by every top name in fashion photography, including Annie Leibovitz, Arthur Elgort, Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, Irving Penn, Patrick Demarchelier, and Richard Avedon, among others. Over five chapters, the 49-year-old shares her journey of becoming a household name, among other things.
Crawford said she wasn’t initially looking to write a book, but decided to write it to help mark her upcoming 50th birthday on February 20, 2016. “A couple of years ago we were talking about my 50th birthday coming up … and we just hit upon this idea,” she said. “Photographically I wanted to celebrate where I’ve been. But also I wanted to celebrate the lessons I learned along the way.”
Crawford’s book is available for purchase from Rizzoliusa.
