Suki Waterhouse stuns in lacy dress at Insurgent premiere
Suki Alice Waterhouse has already found quite a bit of success in the modeling industry, becoming a certified muse for Burberry Prorsum – the major British luxury fashion house for which she has graced several numerous of its advertising campaigns and fashion shows – since the year 2013. And with so many of her fellow fashion models turning their hand at acting, the lovely English mannequin has jumped at the opportunity to follow in their footsteps as well.
The twenty-three year old beauty, whose modeling resume for Burberry boasts a multitude of campaigns such as for its main clothing line (designed by the noted British clothesmaker Christopher Bailey, who not only works as the chief creative director of Burberry, but also as the chief executive officer), as well as for a wide array of the London-based high-end fashion label’s Brit Rhythm (men’s, women’s and Floral) fragrances, – and for its beauty cosmetics and eyewear collections, too – was spotted making her way to the grand New York City premiere of her new 2015 film “Insurgent” on the big screen.
The action-filled motion picture (directed by the German filmmaker Robert Schwentke), which is based on the science fiction novel of the same title written by the acclaimed American author Veronica Roth, is the sequel to last year’s blockbuster flick “Divergent,” and sees the charming Londoner bring the character Marlene to life. The film is also the second installment from the popular Divergent trilogy – a New York Times bestselling book series which consists of Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant – to hit movie theaters.
Joining her co stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James (who play the film series’ main protagonists Beatrice “Tris” Prior and Tobias “Four” Eaton, respectively) on the premiere event’s blue carpet, Waterhouse gave each and everyone at the gathering a look-see of what she what she has picked up during her passage through the fashion industry. The five-foot eight-and-a-half-inch tall mannequin was definitely one of if not the most eye catchingly dressed celebrities in attendance at the Big Apple’s Ziegfeld Theater on the evening of Monday (the sixteenth day of March), when she showed up in a sumptuous sheer number created by the renowned Lebanese fashion designer Reem Acra.
Waterhouse looked like she had just stepped right out of a fairy tale in the exquisite pink blush-colored frock which was taken from Reem Acra‘s ready-to-wear offering for the Spring and Summer 2015 season. The ethereal yet sexy see-through dress featured a plunging v neckline that tastefully displayed the top model turned actress’ cleavage and put even more skin on display through a couple of side cutouts that made her waist seem all the more minuscule. The confectioned design’s embroidered lace skirt swept the floor and almost completely obscured the visibility of her matching high-heeled platform footwear, but it did give a subtle glimpse of her lengthy lower limbs through an under layer.
Opting to show off her natural, close-up ready beauty, the long-time girlfriend of the American Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper kept her makeup relatively simple by applying only a bit of a bold black cat-like overline above her almond-shaped brown eyes using an eye pen. Her lips, needless to say, were coated with a barely-there shade of lipstick in nude. She topped off the look by wearing her long golden blonde tresses sleekly parted at the side and curtaining down in tousled beach waves over her Burberry Beauty face.
Waterhouse jumped aboard the bandwagon of fashion models turned actresses back in 2010, by debuting at the age of eighteen with a small one-episode appearance in an episode of “Material Girl,” a fashion-related British romantic comedy series aired on BBC One, as Lourdes. In 2012, the rising star played the titular role in a short film titled “Rachael,” and subsequently in the same year, she made her box office debut as Mandy in the crime thriller by the Spanish film director Luis Prieto; “Pusher.” Waterhouse has, since then, taken part in Christian Ditter’s “Love, Rosie” (2014, as Bethany Williams) aside from “Insurgent.” She is currently filming Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a comedy horror flick by Burr Steers which is set to hit theaters some time in between late 2015 or early 2016.
