Marc by Marc Jacobs casts non-models for their new campaign
When a high-end fashion brand unveils their latest campaign, we immediately expect to see world-class supermodels or even celebrities gracing them, but Marc Jacobs has done the unexpected for a second time around in his subsidiary brand’s advertisements.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs ready-to-wear campaign for Spring/Summer 2015 features a not-so all-star cast that is completely made up of non-models who were recruited through social media. As like last season, the company encouraged aspiring everyday hopefuls to do their best to impress them through photo submissions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, using the hashtag #CastMeMarc.
Photographed by renowned British lensman David Sims and styled by his also noted countrywoman Katie Grand, the end result sees a total of eleven young women and men chosen from more than one-hundred-thousand world-wide entries. Four of the lucky few come from the United Kingdom, another four from the United States, and the remaining three from Singapore, South Korea and Switzerland.
