A toast to Kate Moss’ 25 years in the fashion industry
Kate Moss is one of the most celebrated world-class supermodels, and to honor the British style icon’s twenty-five years (and counting) of hard work in the fashion industry, London’s 34 Restaurant in Mayfair has created a special champagne coupe sculpted after her left breast.
The commemorative stemware which features the legendary mannequin’s signature at the base was developed by British artist Jane McAdam Freud, who is said to have found the inspiration based on folklore that believes the very first champagne glass of its type was shaped after the supposed perfect breasts of eighteenth century French aristocrat Marie Antoinette.
“I was excited to participate in this project, what an honour to be alongside Marie Antoinette – she was a very intriguing and mischievous character,” said Moss of the creation celebrating her quarter-century career, which she is set to officially launch at the eatery on October 8th. “Champagne is always associated with celebration and happy occasions and I had fun creating this beautiful coupe.”
