Like numerous Victoria’s Secret Angels before her, American model Lily Aldridge recently made known her future plans of establishing her very own fashion brand, following in the footsteps of fellow supermodels and Victoria’s Secret alumni Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks, who have all taken on the fashion design task.

“I’m so inspired by the different careers of so many of the Victoria’s Secret girls,” the twenty-eight year-old brunette told Vogue. “I’d love to launch my own label. A beauty line would be super fun, but I know that building my own company would be a lot of work. There’s so much that I want to do, but I want to slowly start building my own thing.”

Aldridge, who scored the front cover of the 50th Anniversary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue alongside Nina Agdal and Chrissy Teigen, also also said that it is no coincidence that many of the Victoria’s Secret models have gone on to create their own fashion businesses. “Being there does so much for you, and it does make you want to follow their lead,” added the California girl about how the lingerie giant has inspired her to make the move.

Meanwhile, the mother-of-one, who is married to Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill, is currently the face of Velvet by Graham and Spencer, a capsule range of versatile daywear pieces, including plaid shirts, faded leopard-print jackets and loose-fitting, sheer knitwear. A collection which Aldridge describes as “effortless, timeless and cool.”
