Flawlessly imperfect

American Eagle has recently launched their Spring/Summer 2014 advertisement campaign for their Aerie lingerie line. The brand made a statement with #AerieReal, which features their models in unaltered, unretouched images, just as they were captured by the camera of photographer John Urbano.

Aerie, whose collection slogan is “The real you is sexy,” was founded in 2006 and is targeted towards young females of all shapes and sizes, ranging from their mid-teens to early twenties. From blemishes, to stretch marks, the campaign’s aim is to show clients that it is okay to have imperfections.

“Dear Aerie Girls, we think it’s time for a change. We think it’s time get real and think real. We want every girl to feel good about who they are and what they look like, inside and out. This means no more retouching on our girls and no more supermodels. Why? Because there is no reason to retouch beauty. We think the real you is sexy.” said the clothing label.
