The new models of Italian luxury brand Trussardi reflect exactly what is expected from every model – ‘mysteriously calm, wonderfully photogenic, and, most of all, incredibly elegant`. In comparison to ordinary models they just differentiate in the fact that they are no humans. The greyhounds were booked to represent the new Spring 2014 print collection campaign for humans, composed of clothing and accessories.

Photographer of the beauties was US-photographer and photographic artist William Wegman (70). According to The Daily Mail, this special fashion mixture of dogs covered in jackets, sunglasses and embellished with handbags and backpacks is not unusual for projects of Wegman. The artist is known for his animal motives and already was honoured for his exhibitions in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Whitney Museum and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

He also already shot dog wearing jelly shoes and Panama hats for a fashion line of the Swedish label Acne, among others. The Acne campaign, which was plastered around New York City in a guerrilla marketing move, featured Mr Wegman’s own dogs dressed in the brand’s tropical prints, Panama hats, and awkward-chic jelly shoes.

“I dedicate this project to the greyhounds of Trussardi: mysteriously calm, wonderfully photogenic and most of all incredibly elegant” Wegman explained in a statement concerning his latest project. Both these canine features, together with the rising popularity of a blog titled Menswear Dog, make clear that dogs modeling human fashions is on the rise. Although Mr Wegman’s images make it a bit difficult to envision how Trussardi’s clothes would fit actual person, the label’s designs are turned from functional objects into an art piece.

The greyhounds actually pull Trussardi’s luxury look off quite well, artistic pieces designed by creative director Gaia Trussardi.
