Kate Moss’ First Photoshoot Ever
One of the most in-demand models of her time, Kate Moss, will be turning 40 this coming January and will kick off the celebration of the beginning of her new decade with a photo shoot for Playboy in December. But, haven’t we all ever wondered at one time or another how one of the most recognizable faces looked when she literally just got her start in the industry? Well, look no further. On October 30th, at the Lawrence Alkin Gallery in London, an exhibition titled “Kate Moss: Roll 1” opens up. They will display never before seen photos of a 14-year-old Kate Moss in 1988, shot by photographer David Ross just weeks after she had been scouted at JFK airport by Storm Models founder Sarah Doukas. Ross shot 3 rolls of film that went forgotten until a few years ago. Some were auctioned off last year; the remainder will go on display in few days.
“This first shoot with Kate Moss is a lovely piece of history, capturing her freshness and innocence with her first experience entering the world of fashion modeling…its interesting thinking how she was back then, fresh up from Croydon – deep in South London – by herself on the train. I actually sent her home the first time she turned up because she arrived without a chaperone.” Ross told Vogue UK.
