London Fashion Week – Fashion Awards – Woolmark Prize 2013
This year’s “International Woolmark Prize” goes to the young Belgian Designer Christian Wijnants. Beside the trophy money of 100.000 USD, he won the outstanding chance to distribute his collection in renowned retail stores all around the globe.
Donatella Versace, Victoria Beckham, Diane von Furstenberg and Italian Vogue Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani formed the famous jury, which awarded the prize to the congenial young designer during the London Fashion Week. Christian Wijnants could prove his talent and stand out beside his able competitors with his designs, which the jury described as “feminine, sexy and bootlicking”.
Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent had been the first winners of this special prize in the year 1954!
The “International Woolmark Prize” is an award of the “Australian Wool Innovation”, which sponsored lots of designer projects in the past.
