It’s an all star cast for Prada’s 2013 S/S campaign
Prada has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2013 campaign and it’s a veritable who’s who of famous faces. Leading the pack are Harvey Keitel, Benicio Del Toro, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Dane De Haan for the menswear line. Hot on their heels come former and current supermodels, Eva Herzigova, Amber Valetta, Saskia de Braw, Sasha Privovarova and Sung Hee for Prada’s womenswear collection.
The four male actors showcase the luxury brands lightweight coats, shirts, pants and sweaters and the shots were taken in black and white by photographer David Sims. According to Prada, the menswear collection is supposed to evoke “simplicity, detail and the emergence of a new elegance.”
In the womenswear campaign, the clothes are more colorful and feature bold floral prints. Fashion photographer, Steven Meisel is the photographer here and the aim according to Prada is to bring forward each model’s ‘individual persona’ and to channel “Prada’s new take on modern femininity.” The colours are bold and accentric with a touch of softness which adds to the “feminine” concept they are looking for.
All in all, a feast for the eyes and a touch of glamour for the soul. A bold concept pairing actors and models but then again it’s always been a match made in heaven hasn’t it? Thumbs up on a great campaign.
