Kate Upton makes it to second Vogue shoot and proves she’s got high-fashion power
Kate Upton’s every man’s dreamgirl, the buxom blonde with the long flowing blond mane and the extra dose of sex-appeal. She looks drop-dead gorgeous scantily dressed and loves flaunting her curves but it seems she’s looking to move away from her “bombshell” image and what better way to do it than to cover-up a little more and still show that she’s got what it takes to keep men everywhere wanting more. And with fairy-godmother Anna Wintour at her side, she can only go upwards from here.
The ascent into the world of high fashion began with a small editorial piece in US Vogue for their June issue. She wore an Altuzarra outfit and kept her ample assets in check by covering them up. That gave a thumbs-up and a nod of approval from Vogue’s editor, Anna Wintour. Then, she emphasized her two best assets for Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book by clutching five fluffy chicks to her chest and sent hearts a-thumping everywhere. Now, she’s making a jump into the world of high fashion by appearing in a high profile seven-page spread in US Vogue’s November issue. She is seen wearing chic and very-in ensembles by Jason Wu, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors and sizzles in the shoot looking just as good covered-up as in a bikini. She also talks about going from the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue to the pages of a high fashion magazine and she had this to say. “You know, actually, I don’t really know why the industry has chosen me, but I am excited because I love fashion. And I am excited to be in a place where I can be a good example. I don’t want to starve myself. I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl. You have to be confident, and that doesn’t mean starving yourself. I think it’s important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable. Now, that the fashion industry likes the idea of me, I’m happy if I can have an influence.”
If by setting a “good example” means being more fashion forward and losing the “bikini babe image” then she’s on the right path and we look forward to seeing more of her in high-fashion shoots. Looks like the fairy-godmother has done a marvelous job with her.
