Style queens show their “glamour side” at the 64th Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles
It was a memorable event and the 64th Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles this year was no different from years past. The red carpet event brought out the best of Hollywood dressed in their finest and gave designers an opportunity to showcase their latest and best designs on heavenly bodies hoping that the gowns will make it to the best dressed list.
Without further ado here’s the best of the best dressed at the Emmy Awards. Sofia Vergara of Modern Family fame sizzled in a blue Zuhair Murad sequined number with the fish-tail finish that made her look like a mermaid as she posed on the red carpet showing off her “to die for” figure. She later asked: “Do you think I made the right choice?” referring to her dress. We certainly think you did and in one word, “Fabulous!” Keeping in line with blue theme, was our favourite supermodel, Heidi Klum, who took to the red carpet in a light as air sea foam Alexander Vauthier number that packed a punch with its long thigh-high slit and plunging neckline. The glam factor came in the form of Heidi’s gorgeously tanned skin which gave the dress its “wow” factor. Hair stylist, Oribe Canales had this to say about the gown. “The inspiration for the style is a combination of the Seventies and Nineties. Decadent but sweet, soft and severe. And so it was folks. Heidi looked marvelous. Michelle Dockery of Downtown Abbey fame rocked in a midnight blue Louis Vuitton gown with a bustle that was charming. The other “blue ladies” were Maria Menounos in a Oliver Tolentino dress flashing a toned leg, Hayden Panetiere in a fabulous Marchesa gown albeit looking older than her years and Julianne Hough flaunted her red carpet style sense in a one-of-a-kind Georges Hobieka strapless gown that had all eyes riveted on her just for the glam factor alone.
The colour theme this year was definitely blue, the styles glamorous as always and the ladies rocked in their fabulous dresses and borrowed “rocks” for the evening which will have to be returned to their respective owners after the ceremony. This year’s Emmy Awards was a Cinderella affair with lots of fairy dust thrown in for the sparkle effect but then again, isn’t it every year?
