Karl Lagerfeld doesn’t hold anything back when it comes to speaking his mind
Karl Lagerfeld, designer to the stars and the man who is known to speak his mind did more of the same, this time giving his verdict on Carole Middleton, mother of Kate and Pippa Middleton.
The designer waxed almost lyrical about the 57-year-old mother-of-three and went so far as to say, “I think Carole is very sexy. I think the mother is sexier than the daughters. There is something full of life about her. For a woman who must be 50 or so I think she’s great. Full of energy.” Got your glasses on Mr Lagerfeld? Alright, we see that you do, it must be something in the water then.
Perhaps, he is making up for the cutting remarks he delivered on Pippa Middleton earlier this year. It went like this. “I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back.” However, in his new interview with Grazia magazine, he seems to be eating humble pie as he retracted saying, “I only meant I don’t think her makeup is right. She has a roundish face and round eyes and she should pick another makeup for the eyes.” Not quite an apology but coming from Karl Lagerfeld, the man who’s known for his razor-sharp criticism, it is that and more. Trying to do damage control as only he knows how, he went on to gush about Kate Middleton and said, “I love Kate Middleton! She can try anything. For makeup, she has no limits!”
All we can say is, “Bravo Mr Lagerfeld! You know how to give it and you know how to take it back. Eating “humble pie” has never looked better.
