Candice Huffine joins the anti-size zero army and bares all for S Moda

Candice Huffine is an American plus-size model who passes on an image of beauty, confidence and health. As 19 worlwide Vogue editors are joining forces to stop the use of underweight, unhealthy and eating disorders stricken models, Candice lands another fashion magazine’s cover. After starring Vogue Italia‘s “Real Beauties” issue last July, the curvaceous 27-year-old model is lending her allure to Spain’s S Moda, wearing nothing but a pair of elegant high heels and a stunning diamante chocker. Standing for her size 14, the model shows “real and well-rounded” (“Reales y Rotundas”) women can be as high fashion as the ethereal skinny ones.

The girl whose modelling career started in 2000 keeps her curves in place with no exercise at all, claiming she “travels too often”.

In front of Damien Baker’s camera, for the May 19th issue of S Moda, Miss Huffine plays a 50’s pin-up for the inside spread, which brings along a text rflecting on the change of feminine beauty standards. Giving her own opinion on this matter, Cadice said: “[The Vogue Italia] editorial opened the eyes of the industry and proved that we are beautiful, sexy and good models. Now people want to see more. It changed my life”. Proving she also sees some change in general attitudes towards women’s body shape, she added: “Past disputes [over Photoshop] have made the industry understand the people what they want to see is real girls”.
