Baby made it better
Unlike many other women, the American sensation model Arizona Muse claims her body turned out better after her baby was born. And the body wasn’t the only thing that has improved: her carrer rocketed as well. She walked the runways and featured campaigns and magazine covers for the biggest names in the fashion industry. And, believe it or not, her post-baby figure is now given as one possible reason for such bombastic succes.
The 22-year-old Arizona maintains her looks improved after three-year-old son Nikko was born: “I think my body was better after I had a child, actually. I prefer my body now to what it was like before I had Nikko”. She also admited that the need to support her son financially was also a motive to stick to modelling instead of quitting, due to the little success she had since 2007 – the year she started modelling. Then, she cut her hair straight and dyed it brown and heade to New York City.
About the way she got in shape after giving birth, she said: “You gain all that weight and then you just lose it and keep losing it. You’re breastfeeding and you’re busy and you’re tired. So that helped”. The model breast-fed her son for 14 months. She allerts for the dangers of wanting to loose the baby-weight too fast: “You just have to give your body time. You can’t have a three-month old baby and think “That’s it for me”. I tell mothers to wait a whole year before you start judging your body, before you start working on it. Just give yourself a whole year of rest. And breastfeed. I’m a big advocate of breastfeeding. I loved it”.
Arizona’s second try at modelling was a lot better. Even Anna Wintor, editor-in-chief of Vogue Us wasn’t able to resist her charm: “When I look at Arizona, I see shadows of Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova, but most of all I see her, a gorgeous, smart, grown-up. And how could anyone resist someone with that name?”
