This ‚engagement ring‘ shows how much Ronaldo loves his Russian girl
Cristiano Ronaldo was always gravitated by models. Before he met Irina Shayk, he has previously dated English model Alice Goodwin and Gemma Atkinson. But since the Portuguese football player met the Russian beauty, while they were modeling together for the Armani Exchange campaigns, they are inseparable. Ronaldo has found the love of his life and so this February on Valentine’s Day it was a matter of course for him to jet all the way from Spain to New York just to surprise Irina and make her a proposal.
Cristiano is currently one of the highest-paid football players in the world with a ?11 million earning per year. This explains the huge ring on the engagement finger of his girlfriend Irina Shayk, which she was wearing during the European Golden Shoe award.
Ronaldo became the highest goalscorer in a season in the history of Real Madrid with 51 goals, which makes him the first Real Madrid player to ever reach and surpass 50 goals in a season. Six days later, Ronaldo broke the record of most goals ever scored in a season in La Liga with 40 strikes and broke Hugo Sanchez’s record. By doing so, he won the European Golden Shoe award once again, becoming the first player to win the trophy in two different championships.
The Sport Illustrated model who came along with Ronaldo, who collected his Golden Boot award at the ceremony in Madrid, was wearing a little black dress that shows off her perfect pins and a pair of high heels. Furthermore the model flashed the ring on the third finger of her left hand which was impossible to hide. Irina’s ring comprised 229 white diamonds of 8.85 carats, and is obviously very expensive. The ring was designed by the Swiss jewelers de Grisogono. Also her bracelet and earrings were made by the same designer and all items were quoted as worth over ?100,000.
