Kate Moss drops rock and roll life – for a little bed and breakfast
Hell-raiser Kate Moss is planning a quiet life at the seaside with her rock-star boyfriend – running a B&B.
The 36-year-old has fallen in love with the idea and has made an offer on a place to set up the business near the pretty town of Fowey in Cornwall.
The model and her beau, the Kills guitarist Jamie Hince, want to buy Bodriggan, an impressive five-bedroom detached house in the village of Golant.
It has its own vineyard, fantastic views of the River Fowey and is on the market for ?1.2 million.
Party-loving Kate – known as Cocaine Kate after being exposed for her drug-taking – owns a London home and a country pile in Oxfordshire but has told friends she wants to spend less time in the capital.
‘She’s yearned for a seaside retreat for some time,’ said a close friend. ‘Jamie’s quite a bookworm so he turned her on to the
Cornish writer Daphne du Maurier, who lived in Fowey, and since then Kate has been researching the area. They are planning to convert it into a luxury B&B for their friends.’
Kate, who has said she wants a more healthy lifestyle, hasn’t seen the property yet, but has been showing friends pictures of the mock tudor home.
One said: ‘Kate loves the idea of having a refuge for her rock ’n’ roll friends. She even has ideas about growing her own produce and adores the thought of running a B&B. It will be more a place for her friends to stay – I can’t see her renting rooms to total strangers.’
Kate – who has dated Jamie, 38, for three years – has even started planning the interior decor. The friend said: ‘She is excited about decorating the suites. She’s looking to the next phase of her life and thinking about where she’d like to be.’
The couple, rumoured to have secretly wed this summer, seem set on the idea – they offered ?5million for the Burgh Island Hotel in Bigbury on Sea, Devon, but were turned down.
