Sasha Pivovarova: It Doesn’t Matter If She’s Black Or White
Vogue Italia took pale to the next level with editor Jacob K’s spread for the April issue. Featuring Sasha Pivovarova and Guinevere van Seenus as two “ghostly maidens” doused in white powder and draped in designs from Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Yohji Yamamoto, “A White Story” takes the frill and frippery of spring to an artfully icy place.
I love Vogue Italia because their spreads are decidedly un-ready-to-wear-able — which makes browsing through the pages that much more interesting. But the best part of this issue might be the compare and contrast between “A White Story” and Pivovarova’s second and far smokier spread shot by Mario Sorrenti.
