Ruby Rose plans model wedding to Catherine McNeil
SUPERMODEL Catherine McNeil is engaged to MTV presenter Ruby Rose.
IT began when they were teenagers, now the romance between supermodel Catherine McNeil and MTV presenter Ruby Rose seems set to get more serious.
Rose announced her engagement to McNeil on Facebook last week, alongside photographs showing the pair enjoying a holiday on the Gold Coast, taking in rides at local theme parks and petting animals at a zoo.
The Sunday Telegraph understands the pair held an intimate dinner with friends in Melbourne last Sunday, announcing their plans to wed.
On January 2, Rose updated her status with a comment, declaring, “So in love can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with u (sic) baby.”
Given same-sex marriage is not legally recognised in Australia, it is understood the pair are looking into tying the knot in Canada.
They have been inseparable in recent months, spending the holiday season together in Logan, Queensland, with McNeil’s family.
While the pair have been photographed together numerous times over the past year, they’ve kept a remarkably low profile in recent months and neither they nor their management has publicly commented on their relationship status.
Until now, they have insisted they are just good friends – despite
being snapped kissing publicly at Sydney restaurants.
The Sunday Telegraph can reveal that just before Christmas, Rose wrote to a friend who is holidaying overseas, telling her the news.
“I’m engaged,” she trumpeted on the website.
That same day, Rose changed her Facebook relationship status to
“Woof Woof Rose is engaged to Meow Meow McNeil.”
Despite issuing a “no comment” to The Sunday Telegraph, there were no denials from the happy couple about their engagement.
The pair celebrated New Year’s Eve in Melbourne clubs White Sensations and Reba, where Rose is a DJ.
It isn’t the first time Rose has announced an engagement.
Last year, she told friends she was planning to marry then-girlfriend Lindsay Anne McMillan.
McNeil is set to head back to her home base of New York this week.
The pair met as teens as contestants in a magazine model-search competition.
