Well, that’s one way to top up the student loan: Lily Cole goes topless for Pirelli calendar

A year after she posed naked for French Playboy magazine, Lily Cole has stripped off again.
The 21-year-old has followed in the footsteps of Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford by appearing in the famous Pirelli calendar.
With millions in the bank, it’s unlikely Lily would need a student loan when she enrolled at Cambridge University last year. But her latest shoot certainly won’t do her bank balance any harm.
In the provocative calendar, Lily goes topless alongside her young contemporaries Miranda Kerr, Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley and Daisy Lowe.
Last night, the models reunited at Old Billingsgate Market in London to celebrate the calendar’s launch.
They were joined by Hollywood legend and 2007 Pirelli calendar ‘girl’ Sophia Loren, who looked chic in a black and gold dress.
In the calendar, the statuesque redhead poses in a series of seductive shots, including one topless pose in a shallow pool. In another picture she is seen hugging a sloth
Lily, who started her second year at Cambridge last month, travelled to Brazil for the job in June.
In one shot, a naked Daisy sidles up to Australian model Catherine McNeil with only a Pirelli tyre covering their modesty.
The 20-year-old explained she and the fellow models spent a whole week being naked as they posed in Brazil for American photographer Terry Richardson.
She said: ‘It was quite freeing, being able to be naked for a week.’
A video of the shoot, which was screened last night, features Daisy spraying herself with a water hose and all the models enjoying a spot of mud wrestling
Also peeling off is Orlando Bloom’s Australian girlfriend Miranda, who is regularly seen in her underwear for US lingerie firm Victoria’s Secret.
The 30 images for the calendar have been described as ‘a return to the natural, authentic atmospheres and images of the ’60s and ’70s’ where ‘naturalness prevails over technique’.
Richardson said he was thrilled when Pirelli asked him to shoot their 37th calendar.
When asked what he thought about the models’ incredibly youthful looks, he replied: ‘I did not really take into consideration anything about age or anything … I work with girls that I know. Obviously everyone’s 18 or older.’
The shoot also featured Abbey Lee Kershaw, Eniko Mihalik, Marloes Horst, Georgina Stojiljkovic, Gracie Carvalho and Ana Beatriz Barros.
The calendar is famous for its limited availability. It is not sold, but given as a corporate gift to a restricted number of important Pirelli customers and celebrity VIPs.
