Security fears for Miranda Kerr

Miranda_KerrSupermodel Miranda Kerr was under heavy guard yesterday after threats were made against the Aussie stunner during a promotional event. Fears for Kerr’s safety were sparked after a man allegedly made threats against the 26-year-old and her Hollywood star boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
The Victoria Secrets model was flanked by security guards yesterday during a fundraising appearance for Kids Help Line in Rocklea, in Brisbane’s southwest – an event organised by her mother Therese, The Daily Telegraph reports.
It is understood a threat, made by an unknown Queensland man, had earlier been directed at both Kerr and Bloom.
A police spokesman would not confirm if an official complaint on Kerr’s behalf had been made. Appearing relaxed, Kerr spent several hours at the charity day and took to the stage on several occasions under the close watch of two personal bodyguards and several privately-contracted security staff.
Security surrounding the event was tight, with guests required to enter through a manned gate before proceeding through a bag-check area.
Bloom was rumoured to be in Brisbane with his long-time girlfriend but during her appearance yesterday Kerr told the crowd the Pirates Of The Caribbean star was in Dubai and that she was preparing to fly back to the US where she is now based.
Kerr was due to fly out last night.
A representative for the supermodel was reluctant to discuss the security matter.
Earlier in the day Kerr spoke about her whirlwind trip to Australia and her appearance at the charity day organised by her mother who helps fundraise for the Boys Town charity Kids Help Line.
“It seemed like a really good thing to do and I wanted to come along and support it,” Kerr said.
The model also hit out at a recent article published in the UK’s Daily Mail which suggested she was underweight and suffering an eating disorder.
The paper had seized on pictures of Kerr during a photo shoot in Sydney for Grazia magazine, slamming her as “shockingly thin” and “emaciated”.
“I’m not anorexic,” Kerr said yesterday.
“I have been the same weight for three years. I feel really passionately about health and nutrition.”
A day earlier, dressed in an Alex Perry beige silk dress, Kerr cut a glamorous figure at the Caulfield Cup in Melbourne.
