Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen is expecting her first child with her American Football player husband Tom Brady.
The pair, who married in February, are expecting the baby in December.
New England Patriots quarter-back Brady confirmed the news in a television interview with the ESPN sports network.
The 32-year-old sportsman said: ‘It couldn’t be harder than this training camp, so I’ll be prepared.’
People magazine had reported in June that Bundchen, 29, was expecting her first child with Brady, although the couple did not confirm the news at the time.
Brady also has a son, born in 2007, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
Bundchen, who used to date actor Leonardo DiCaprio, is the world’s highest paid model with a fortune estimated at $150million and earnings of$35million in 2008, according to reports.
Brady added: ‘I told her no Sundays,’ joking he would participate in Lamaze childbirth classes with his wife.
Lamaze is a nonprofit organization promoting a natural, healthy and safe approach to pregnancy and childbirth.
‘The women are the ones who have to do the work, we just have to be there to support them and so it’ll be nice to do that.’
Brady, 32, who is expected to make his return Monday from a knee injury that kept him out of nearly all of last season.
