Supermodel Charo Ronquillo in Ford International’s Top 10 list

Charo_RonquilloLooks like there’s no stopping Filipina Supermodel Charo Ronquillo from conquering the world.
Over the weekend, prestigious international fashion magazine Vogue released its Top 10 list of Ford’s Supermodel of the World competition finalists who “are making it big” around the world and our very own Filipina Supermodel from Laguna ranked No. 4.
The website, vogue.com carried it in their daily news section. You can check out this link http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/090827-ford-models-search/gallery.aspx and see for yourself.
The website also contained the following information on Charo Ronquillo:
“Charo joined and won the Supermodel of World Philippines Search in 2005 when she was just 17 years old. She went on to the Supermodel of the World Finals the following year in New York City and placed third, securing a $100,000 contract with Ford Models. Since her win, Charo has graced the catwalks of New York Fashion Week for designers including LaCoste, Nanette Lapre, Maria Cornejo, Tory Burch, Antonio Berardi, Kenneth Cole, Mac Cosmetics, Barbie Collection, Sisley and Benetton and has secured many high profile editorials.”
The other nine Supermodels of the World in the Top 10 list are: UK-born model Alexina Graham, Brazilian model Camila Finn, Chanel Iman, Kang Seung-Hyun, Canadian model Kate Somers, Brazilians Liliane Ferrarezi and Luciana Curtis, Ukrainian Nataliya Gotsii, and Puerto Rican Vanessa De Assis.
Charo continues to make waves in the international fashion scene. She currently appears in a huge billboard advertisement for Target in downtown Los Angeles, as well as in Express Boutiques. She will soon be gracing the covers of Vogue India.
Charo was home recently to grace the Philippine Fashion Week at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia.We were in Davao about two weekends ago with Isabel Oli to grace the latest activities heralding brand new and value-added services being undertaken by PLDT MyDSL to bring broadband service in the country to the next and higher level of sufficiency.
The most interesting part was the introduction to the latest breakthrough, myDSL Watchpad, which allows every PLDT myDSL subscriber to enjoy the benefits of television while online, and all for free.
Gary Dujali, PLDT MyDSL head, is very excited toward this “value added service” that they have cooked up. “We hope to change the face of broadband service by coming up with this value added feature. At the end of the day, it makes us happy to know that at PLDT, we stop of nothing to bring innovations and for pioneering these efforts to redefine the entire DSL experience, to benefit our subscribers,” he said.
Set to leave the competition eating dust by broadening the spectrum of Internet service in a way never before seen in the country, the myDSL WatchPad service will allow myDSL subscribers to watch their favorite channels and movies as well as play exclusive games over the Internet, watch huge events via streaming (like the recently concluded Villoria-Iribe boxing match and the International drifting competition with Japanese champ NOB Taniguchi) all for free and inclusive of their basic DSL-landline package.
“If our competitions attract subscribers by offering a slightly cheaper rate for their DSL packages or by designing their USB wireless Internet modems differently, we will offer the public the best value for their money through a range of services that is exclusive to our brand,” added Gary Dujali.
The myDSL activities held in the country’s ‘durian city’ befit the magnitude of their announcement. Isabel graced many events there from Aug. 14 to 16, including the school tour of Speedster Bus at the Ateneo de Davao, bar raids at E-Vibe, Club 183, Urban Club, Metro Lounge and Promenade, motorcades, myDSL stick-on campaign at SM Davao, UBB raid at SM where she herself demonstrated the easy way QIK works, Speed Circuit drifting exhibition with champion Alex Perez and Gio Rodriguez and hosted by DJ Jimmy Muna of Wave 89.1., a courtesy visit to the local government officials there.
Isabel enjoys “working” with the PLDT MyDSL people. “It doesn’t feel like work because they make it so much fun. And besides, I enjoy Internet so much. I make time to go online everyday to chat with my fans, research material for my roles or even just check out social networking sites that’s why I know how good and reliable the PLDT myDSL products and services are. If work is like this, I don’t mind doing it til I get old,” she said laughing.
She, too, is excited about the launch of PLDT MyDSL Watchpad towards the fourth week of this month. There are at least 13 channels to be accessed online – MTV, Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, CNBC, Solar Sports, Pinoy Box Office (PBO), Go Channel, Crime and Investigation Network, 2nd Avenue, GMA Network, History Channel, Bio Channel, and ETC. These channels are featured on top of PLDT MyDSL’s exclusive Watchpad channel called MyView where people can get the latest in celebrity news, fitness and fashion tips, and even the hottest indie music online.
Another unique feature, myFlicks allows the subscriber to stream movies in this exclusive Watchpad video on demand channel. Watch it, when you want it. The channel will also feature original music videos exclusively.
